On September 21, 2018 our bride Emma married the love of her life Rob at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Newport, Rhode Island. For all the none Rhode Islanders reading this- St Mary’s Cathedral is best known as the church where Senator John F. Kennedy was wed to Jacqueline Bouvier back in September 1951. This cathedral has such a presence about it so I was very excited to design florals for it, bringing in Emma’s comfortable and relaxed vibe to such a historic space.
September in Rhode Island is such a beautiful time of year because of the warm days, crisp nights and slower pace. It is also a beautiful time of year for locally grown flowers. Not only do you have perfect dahlias still blooming but you also have late Summer, early Fall stunners like Japanese anemones, cosmos, and Queen Anne’s Lace. When I think of Fall, I think of texture so the bouquets we created for Emma and her bridesmaids will always have a place in my heart.
Take a look at this beautiful, intimate, joyful wedding where guests were invited to dine and dance the night away in a backyard tented wedding at the bride’s childhood home.
